  Rooftop water towers are a unique architectural feature in cityscapes, especially New York and Chicago. They are strong, weathered, and have stood the test of time. They are relics of the past and are a direct link to the industrial era. Although these rooftop water towers are decreasing in number, the need of its infrastructures and mechanisms are still important. Although some outer appearances have changed through time, the technology of how these structures work have not changed.
