Crystal Effect III(Limits)

This piece is made of steel and it represents not only a modular geometric form, but also some aspects of origami techniques. It is constructed of many layers of steel sheets that are cut into specific needs, put together, heated up in an oven, then inflated with compressed air.

The process I use requires a lot of theoretical concepts that might work in a perfect world, but might not so much in practical use. This piece started out as an experiment of the limitations of inflating metal, pushing them to their limits, hence giving its title, ‘LIMITS’.
